Wellington Phoenix striker Kosta Barbarouses has taken the lead in the 2024-25 Golden Boot race with a sensational goal struck from inside the centre circle in his side’s Round 10 meeting with Newcastle Jets.
Barbarouses’ sixth goal of the season took him one goal clear on the Isuzu UTE A-League’s goalscoring leaderboard and gave the Phoenix the lead just two minutes into their meeting with the Jets at Sky Stadium.
