An inspired performance from Jess Fishlock has powered Melbourne City to a third-straight Westfield W-League title following a 2-0 win over Sydney FC in the Grand Final.
Fishlock netted a stunning long-range opener in the first half to hand Patrick Kisnorbo’s side a 1-0 advantage at the break.
After absorbing a wave of early pressure in the second half, City all but sealed the win with 15 minutes remaining through the boot of Jodie Taylor.

And it was Fishlock who was again the chief architect.
The midfielder’s sweetly-struck free-kick was pushed onto the post by Sydney FC keeper Audrey Bledsoe, with Taylor reacting quickest to bury the rebound.
The goal killed off the Sky Blues’ resistance and sealed a remarkable achievement for City after finishing fourth on the regular season table.
