Newcastle Jets 2-0 Western Sydney Wanderers
Both keepers stood out in a see-sawing contest in the Hunter which swung in the home side’s favour after the introduction of young gun Angus Thurgate.
Thurgate – known as the Port Macquarie Pele – scored the Jets’ opener then set-up the second for Dimitri Petratos as Ernie Merrick’s men made it back-to-back wins.

Western United FC 0-2 Sydney FC
Mark Rudan’s side were punished in a contest where Western United commanded all of the ball but could not convert their possession into chances.
English hitman Adam Le Fondre needed only two sniffs of goal and he fired a double, with the help of the inspirational Alexander Baumjohann, to lift the Sky Blues to the top of the ladder.

Adelaide United 1-2 Wellington Phoenix
Starting the round rock bottom of the Hyundai A-League, Phoenix came out firing and had the Reds clinging on for dear life – until Nikola Mileusnic changed everything with an earth-shattering volley.
That prompted a dazzling, quick-fire turnaround from Ufuk Talay’s men, with goals from David Ball and Ulises Davila flipping the script and sealing back-to-back wins for Wellington.
