FFA Cup 2019 champions Adelaide came from behind to deal Newcastle Jets a blow on Saturday afternoon.

Panamanian striker Abdiel Arroyo scored a wonderful volley to put the Jets in front, but a James Troisi-inspired Adelaide hit back through two goals from Riley McGree.

Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 Sydney FC

Western Sydney Wanderers ended their long wait for a Sydney derby win by defeating Sydney FC 1-0 in Saturday evening’s blockbuster.

Captain Mitch Duke gave Wanderers a 19th minute lead, one they barely clung to after a relentless onslaught of Sky Blue pressure.

Wellington Phoenix 1-2 Perth Glory 

Bruno Fornaroli scored his first goal for Perth Glory and his first in the Hyundai A-League for nearly a year as the reigning Premiers beat Wellington Phoenix 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Fornaroli broke the deadlock early on and Chris Ikonomidis doubled the advantage as Diego Castro inspired Glory to their first win of the campaign.

Western United 1-2 Melbourne City 

Jamie Maclaren was at the double as 10-man Melbourne City stunned Western United FC 2-1 in Sunday evening’s contest. 

Maclaren struck early in the first half but City were pegged back by Besart Berisha’s penalty after Harrison Delbridge was dismissed. But the Caltex Socceroo had the last laugh.
