Newcastle Jets 0-0 Western United FC

Newcastle were left to rue an abundance of missed chances and settle for a point in a 0-0 draw against Western United at McDonald Jones Stadium

The Jets crafted 26 shots on goal to the visitors’ four but failed to pierce the back of the net as their inefficiency in front of goal reared its ugly head once again.

Adelaide United consolidated their position in the top six by sweeping aside Melbourne City 3-1 at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.

Perth Glory 2-2 Melbourne Victory

A late header from Nick D’Agostino on his Perth Glory starting debut ensured his side nicked a point from Melbourne Victory in an entertaining 2-2 draw at HBF Park.

Victory looked set to walk away with all three points thanks to two clinical finishes from Ola Toivonen and Andrew Nabbout, either side of Bruno Fornaroli’s goal for the hosts, but D’Agostino made sure he had the final say in the see-sawing affair as Glory extended their unbeaten run to eight games.
