Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the signing of veteran defender Ellie Brush for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.
Brush joins the Wanderers after an extensive playing career that has seen her spend the last nine seasons with Canberra United.
An experienced campaigner, Brush led Canberra to win the Westfield W-League Premiership back in 2012 and is the fourth most-capped Westfield W-League player of all time.
The Weston Mongolo FC junior said she is looking forward to the challenge at the Wanderers.
“It was a very tough decision to sign with a new club as I had been at Canberra United for so long,” said Brush.
“After moving to Sydney earlier in the year to be closer to my partner and play in the AFLW, I became very close to not playing in the Westfield W-League.
“I was then approached by Rich (Byrne) and everyone I spoke to had great things to say about him and the level of professionalism at the Wanderers.
“I am very fortunate that both clubs (Greater Western Sydney Giants and Western Sydney Wanderers) have a good working relationship and allow me the opportunity to play both sports.
“This season at the Wanderers, I want to be able to help the team and the young players to enjoy a really successful season.”
