Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed the signings of Dutch striker Marlous Pieëte and defender Maruschka Waldus for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.
Pieëte joins the Red & black from Dutch club Ajax and has had an impressive career playing in the top-flight of the Dutch league.
The forward has made 48 appearances for Ajax over four seasons, scoring 10 goals.
Pieëte has represented the Netherlands 48 times and this will be her first time playing for an overseas club.
Waldus joins the Red & Black from a recent stint at Icelandic club Fylkir FC where she scored in her last two games for the club.
The experienced defender spent the start of the 2016/17 season with FC Twente, featuring in 22 games and scoring two goals.
The 25-year-old has had a career that has spanned the globe, playing in the Netherlands, United States, Sweden, Germany and Iceland.
W-League coach Rich Byrne said the pair are going add a lot of quality to this season’s squad.
“We are delighted to welcome Marlous and Maruschka to the Wanderers,” said Byrne.
“Marlous has played at the very top with the Dutch national side and is coming off a successful season with Ajax. She will bring both quality and experience to the squad.
“Maruschka comes with a CV of playing in the top leagues across Europe, experience in the Champions League and the NWSL. She’s a fantastic addition to our team.”
