Marcelo Carrusca has been given a Hyundai A-League lifeline after signing with Western Sydney Wanderers for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Season.
The move will see the playmaker reunite with Josep Gombau, who he played under for a couple of seasons at Adelaide United where they won the 2014 Westfield FFA Cup.
Carrusca was released by Melbourne City on Thursday, allowing him to link with the Wanderers.
The 34-year-old has made just three appearances in the Hyundai A-League this season, all as a substitute, playing just 85 minutes in total.
Carrusca left Adelaide United after the 2016/17 Season, playing five years with the Reds and helping the club win the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup in 2014 and the Hyundai A-League double in 2016.
He has played more than 100 times in the Hyundai A-League, scoring 25 goals.
Carrusca, who became an Australia citizen last year, could make his Wanderers debut as early as this weekend and will travel as part of an 18-man squad to Wellington on Friday for Saturday’s clash with the Phoenix.
