Wanderers to play some games at ANZ next season?

According to reports, Western Sydney Wanderers are exploring the idea of playing some home games at ANZ stadium during the period Pirtek stadium undergoes a total rebuild.

The club’s home ground at Parramatta is set for a total rebuild later this year as part of a NSW Government plan to give western Sydney a world-class 30,000 all-seater venue.

However, it will result in the red and black needing a home stadium for around two seasons.

It’s understood negotiations are underway with ANZ to host some games during the rebuild phase.

This means ANZ – capacity just over 80,000 – could potentially host the iconic Sydney derby next season, potentially smashing all attendance records for the big game.

The Wanderers said it was looking at all options at this point in time.
