Wanderers defender handed one game ban by MRP

The independent Match Review Panel have delivered their verdict from incidents arising from the weekend’s Round 19 Hyundai A-League action.

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – convened to consider an incident involving Jonathan Aspropotamitis (Western Sydney Wanderers) which arose in or around the 89th minute of Western Sydney Wanderers’ Round 19 Hyundai A-League Match against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, 14 February 2016.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Jonathan Aspropotamitis was issued with a direct red card. The MRP confirmed that Jonathan Aspropotamitis will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the minimum sanction for the offence of denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
