The Western Sydney Wanderers made it three wins in a row as they toppled the Central Coast Mariners 3-0 at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday.
Goals to Joshua Sotirio, Jake McGing and Alusine Fofanah were enough to see the red and black defeat the Mariners.
The Mariners almost opened the scoring inside the first minute when Josh Bingham struck the woodwork from a powerful shot, but it was all the Wanderers from here.
Just 10 minutes in and Fofanah danced through the Mariners midfield, dribbling passed three players before playing in Mark Cindric.
Cindric didn’t connect well enough with his shot and his effort sailed over the bar.
Great link up play between Daniel Alessi and mark Cindric saw Matthew Stewart break through but Bradesevic was upto it once more, saving well to his right.
Just after the half hour mark, the Western Sydney Wanderers had a well deserved lead. After some neat build up play, Joshua Sotirio riffled a shot into the top right corner from the edge of the area to put the Wanderers in front.
Fofanah and Sotirio seemed to be in the mood and a minute before half time the Wanderers should’ve doubled their advantage. Sotirio worked his way into the Mariners box, laying the ball off for Fofanah who skied the ball over the bar.
A rash studs up challenge seconds before half time saw Josh Bingham receive his marching orders.
In the 63rd minute, substitute Michael Trajkovski found space after a through ball but his shot flew over the bar.
Jake McGing finally extended the Wanderers lead 15 minutes before the end as he went on an amazing solo run, freeing himself from his defenders and belting the ball into the bottom right corner.
In the second minute of stoppage time, Fofanah got his name on the scoresheet and scored the goal his performance deserved. Working his way into the box from the left, he shot across the keeper into the bottom right corner.
