Western Sydney Wanderers have round out their Hyundai A-League pre-season schedule with a comfortable 3-0 friendly win over PS4 NPL club APIA Leichhardt on Thursday night.
After a scoreless first half at Marconi Stadium, Mark Bridge, Álvaro Cejudo and Steven Lustica all scored after the break to seal a dominant win for Tony Popovic’s side.
Roly Bonevacia was lively for the Wanderers in the first half, forcing a pair of decent saves out of APIA keeper and ex-Sydney FC man Ivan Necevski.
Michael Thwaite, Cejudo and Brendon Santalab all had chances either side of the break before Bridge got the opener.
He raced onto a delightful flick from Santalab before slipping the ball past Necevski.
It marked the beginning of the end for APIA, as Cejudo doubled the advantage seconds later, tucking home a loose ball in the box.
They would add a third and final goal when Lustica finished from an acute angle after being put through by Jaushua Sotirio.
The Wanderers open their Hyundai A-League campaign with a home clash against Perth Glory at Spotless Stadium on Sunday, October 8.
