Caltex Socceroos star departs Wanderers

The Western Sydney Wanderers have today confirmed the departure of two players from the club’s 2017/18 squad.

Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed two players won’t be re-signing with the club for the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 Season, including Caltex Socceroos winger Chris Ikonomidis.

Midfielder Steven Lustica is the other player to leave the club now his contract has expired.

Ikonomidis concludes his loan deal with the Wanderers and will now return to his Italian club, S.S. Lazio. 

The Sutherland junior made an immediate impact during his short tenure, scoring three goals in 10 games for the Red & Black. 

Lustica said goodbye after two seasons at the Wanderers, scoring four goals in 30 appearances. 

The versatile midfielder will forever be etched in Wanderers history for his goal against English Premier League giants Arsenal in July 2017.
