Western Sydney Wanderers completed a trio of 1-0 victories in pre-season with Nikolai Topor-Stanley’s early goal the difference against APIA Leichhardt.
The win wraps-up the Club’s preparations before the Red & Black’s FFA Cup debut against Adelaide City next week.
It was a fast start to the match with Shannon Cole’s corner perfectly finding the head of Topor-Stanley who time his run well to knock the ball past APIA’s keeper.
While three wins out of three is nice, in pre-season it is all about performance levels and Wanderers fans left Leichhardt Oval happy following this dominating display with APIA devoid of any chances of note.
With wholesale changes in the second half once again, Tony Popovic got the chance to view the entirety of the squad as well as the chance to test out a number of trialists.
You can meet the entire Wanderers team on Wednesday 6 August for the 2014/15 jersey launch. Information can be found here.
