With both teams in need of a win, the W-League clash between Canberra and Perth is set to soar.
Canberra United v Perth Glory
Sunday 26 January 2014
McKellar Park, Canberra
Local kick-off: 3pm
Tune in to ABC1 each Sunday at 3pm nationally for LIVE* Westfield W-League action, this week featuring star-studded Canberra United playing host to Perth Glory.
The game is crucial for both teams with Canberra able to effectively seal their finals berth should they win, while Perth will kiss their semi-final aspirations goodbye should they fail to collect all three points in the nation-s capital.
Canberra always provide a great spectacle on their own turf, both for ABC viewers and for spectators at their comfortable Belconnen football stadium.
The home side will unusually take the field without consistent goalkeeper Lydia Williams who is unavailable this weekend, while her great mate Sally Shipard is forced to sit out yet another week in an ongoing battle with a chronic knee complaint.
The Glory-s tough season has continued with midfielder Ella Mastrantonio parting ways with the club this week, however their backline has been greatly strengthened with the welcome return of Sasha Andrews and Sarah Carroll.
Catch all the action Live* nationally at 3.00pm on ABC1, or catch up from Monday on ABC iView with a full replay at 3.30am on Thursday (*live in AEDT states).
