Alex Brosque (Sydney FC)

Round 11 v Central Coast Mariners

Sky Blues stalwart Brosque had already scored twice before this unforgettable strike, meaning his confidence was sky high.

Brosque took a touch and spied Mariners goalkeeper Ben Kennedy off his line, chipping the shot-stopper from 20 yards and then watching it drop into the net to seal his first Hyundai A-League hat-trick.

Luke Brattan (Melbourne City)

Round 15 v Western Sydney Wanderers

Brattan has made a habit of scoring the outrageous and he had fans at AAMI Park off their seats when he nut-megged Nick Fitzgerald.

And the best was still to come as the midfielder arrowed a long-distance effort into the top-left corner.

Jaushua Sotirio (Western Sydney Wanderers)

Round 15 v Melbourne City

Sotirio’s effort came in the same game – and at the same end – as Brattan’s outstanding individual effort.

Receiving a lay-off from Roly Bonevacia, Sotirio curled a first-time left-foot finish in from the edge of the area with aplomb.

Ola Toivonen (Melbourne Victory)

Round 16 v Sydney FC

The Big Blue is one of the Hyundai A-League’s marquee fixtures and Swedish import Toivonen marked the occasion with an exquisite 20th-minute free-kick.

Toivonen’s effort left Fox Sports commentator Robbie Slater to claim there was “no goalkeeper in the world that would save that”.

Neil Kilkenny (Perth Glory)

Round 16 v Newcastle Jets

Kilkenny’s outstanding season for Hyundai A-League pacesetters Perth Glory continued with a sublime strike against the Jets.

The 33-year-old ran towards the box and produced a dummy that fooled Dimi Petratos before curling in from distance.
