Four players have been nominated for the Westfield W-League’s Player of the Month award for January.
Rebekah Stott (Melbourne City), Emily van Egmond (Melbourne City), Mallory Weber (Adelaide United) and Natasha Dowie (Melbourne Victory) are the players in the running to take out the honours.
You can vote for who you believe should take out the January prize in the poll below – but first, read on as we recap each player’s star-studded contributions
VOTE: Westfield W-League Coach of the Month – January
NOVEMBER: Sydney FC striker Remy Siemsen named Player of the Month
DECEMBER: Wanderers stalwart Denise O’Sullivan named Player of the Month
Rebekah Stott – Melbourne City
Melbourne City hammered home their Premiership credentials in January and have a six point advantage over Western Sydney Wanderers in second – one of the biggest reasons for this is the presence of Rebekah Stott in the heart of defence.
Stott has commanded a water-tight City rearguard all season but the team’s defensive aptitude just gets better and better. The three-time Champions kept clean sheets in wins over Brisbane Roar, Canberra United and Newcastle Jets, Stott near-flawless in all.
When league action resumes for Rado Vidosic’s side on Thursday February 13, they will have gone over two months since conceding their last goal.
Emily van Egmond – Melbourne City
The Westfield Matildas star is hitting peak form at a time where City look like Premiers elect.
City’s most influential player with the ball, van Egmond has created a bucket load of chances and has frequently been a source of inspiration.
She notched a great 30-yard strike against Canberra on January 9 and found the net against Newcastle Jets on January 18.

Mallory Weber – Adelaide United
January was a month in which Mallory Weber was finally rewarded for her consistently impressive performances in an Adelaide United shirt.
The American has been one of the league’s best international signings during 2019/20, turning in eye-catching display week in week out even despite the Lady Reds’ struggles.
After helping Ivan Karlovic’s side get off the mark with a 2-2 draw against Perth Glory at the start of the month, Weber scored a double and turned in one of the showings of the season to shock Premiership contenders Western Sydney Wanderers 3-2 on January 25.
