February was another month of net-busting, eye-catching goals in the Hyundai A-League, but which was the best one?
We’ve narrowed it down to four based on the fans’ votes and now it’s time to choose which strike deserves the Goal of the Month award for February.
Watch the goals in the video above and cast your vote in the poll.
Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney FC v Wellington Phoenix)
Alex Brosque seized onto a mix-up in Wellington’s defence to win possession before guiding a delightful back-heel into the path of the marauding Pole.
The Johnny Warren Medal favourite took the ball on before firing an unstoppable left-footed piledriver past Lewis Italiano.
James Troisi (Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar)
Victory were 2-0 down with eight minutes left when Roar cleared a defensive corner, or so they thought.
The Caltex Socceroo seized upon the ball and from all of thirty yards belted it into the top right corner with a potent mix of venom and placement.
Andrew Nabbout (Newcastle Jets v Western Sydney Wanderers)
One of the Jets most dangerous attackers picked up the ball and slalomed between two would-be tacklers before unleashing a goal-of-the-season contender into the top corner from the outside of his right boot.
The strike instantly went viral and rightly so – it was picture perfect and was later voted the week’s best goal in the world by ESPN.
Leroy George (Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United)
With Victory 1-0 up approaching the half-hour mark, the Dutchman lined up a direct free-kick thirty yards from goal.
With a sweet strike of his left-foot, George sent a wickedly dipping effort into the top left-hand corner, giving Paul Izzo no hope.
