Villarreal leaves for Australia

Villarreal, nicknamed El Submarí Groguet (Yellow Submarine), has already set sail for Australia to take part in the LFP World Challenge.

The squad flew out early yesterday afternoon (local time) on a charter flight from Castellón airport to Frankfurt, Germany. They will then travel via Singapore, and arrive in Adelaide on Thursday morning at 7:30am (ACST).

Once down-under, Villarreal will be involved in a spectacular tour that will include two friendly matches and various promotional events. The first game will be against Adelaide United on Friday 29 May at Coopers Stadium, kick-off at 7:30pm (12:00pm in Spain). They will then travel to Brisbane to face Brisbane Roar on Wednesday 3 June.

The project aims to internationally promote the image of Spanish football, spread the values of the ‘Brand of Spain’ and the Spanish companies, as well as create opportunities with other cultures and business events. After this tour of Australia, Villarreal CF will end their season on Thursday 5 June.
