Victory signs NZ international Yallop

Melbourne Victory has signed New Zealand international Kirsty Yallop on an injury replacement deal in the Westfield W-League.

Yallop, 30, joins Victory as a replacement for goalkeeper Bianca Henninger, who is set to miss another 4-6 weeks with a knee injury.

Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins was delighted to add Yallop, who has played at two FIFA Women’s World Cups and three Olympics.

“She’s a good passer of the ball. She’s also very competitive. She wins the ball, she distributes really well,” he said.

“She’ll be a really good fit for maybe some of the things we haven’t been doing quite so well recently.”

The Victory will meet Western Sydney Wanderers at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne on Sunday.
