Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou has continued his rebuilding of the club, signing Adelaide United midfielder Spase Dilevski on a one-year deal.
After spells at Dutch powerhouse PSV Eindhoven and English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, Dilevski returned to Australia in 2005 when he made his Hyundai A-League debut for Brisbane Roar, before a second stint in the national competition last season with the Reds.
After an injury interrupted 2011/12 season the 27 year-old said he was looking forward to the next phase of his career, “Being a Melbourne boy, I-m really excited to be moving back home and playing for Victory after so many years overseas and interstate.
“I-ve worked under Ange at Australian U-20-s level and I-m delighted to be reunited with him and hopefully I can do a job for the team next season.
“Melbourne Victory-s fans are amazing and it-s going to be a real buzz playing in-front of not only them, but my family also,” Dilevski said.
Postecoglou said Dilevski would provide greater versatility to the playing group.
“Spase is experienced beyond his years and can do a variety of different jobs in both midfield and defence.
“I-ve coached him before and he-s a smart player and I think he will really compliment the squad we-re starting to build.”
Dilevski joins Sam Gallagher and Adama Traore as the club-s latest signings, with several places still to be filled before the commencement of the 2012/13 season.
