Melbourne Victory has re-signed forward Jai Ingham for a further two years, keeping the 23-year-old at the club until at least the end of the 2018/19 Hyundai A-League Season.
Ingham signed a contract extension this week, 13 months after he joined Victory from PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria club Hume City.
“Jai has improved significantly since he joined the club and has earned a new contract,” said Victory head coach Kevin Muscat.
“He has proven his ability to produce quality football against high-calibre opposition, and we expect him to continue his improvement as a player with Victory.”
After signing with Victory, Ingham made seven appearances in the back end of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season, plus four more in the 2016 AFC Champions League.
He made his starting debut for Victory in the AFC Champions League on February 24 last year, scoring the opening goal against Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG at AAMI Park.
Ingham also scored the equaliser in Victory’s International Champions Cup match against Juventus at the MCG in July last year.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of time at Melbourne Victory so far, and I’m excited about what the next couple of years can bring,” Ingham said.
“Being surrounded by so many quality players and coaches has enabled me to learn so much in the last year, and I want to keep working hard to progress my game and prove myself in the A-League.”
Ingham has made 13 Hyundai A-League appearances this season, scoring his first league goal in Round 6 against Western Sydney Wanderers at Etihad Stadium.
