Victory fans now closer to Etihad action

Etihad Stadium will set up its rectangular mode of seating for all five Melbourne Victory home games this coming season, including both Melbourne derbies.

Etihad Stadium will set up its rectangular mode of seating for all five Melbourne Victory home games this coming Hyundai A-League season, including both blockbuster Melbourne derbies.

By moving retractable seats in for each game at the venue during the 2014/15 season – the tenth in Hyundai A-League history – Victory fans will enjoy a closer to the pitch experience at the venue.

Victory boss Kevin Muscat said he was delighted with the move saying closer to the action is better for all concerned.

“As someone who was in the thick of the action at Etihad Stadium as both a player and now a coach, I saw first-hand how great it was having the crowd close to the action.

“The players love it and it makes one of our home grounds even more intimidating for visiting sides.

“We certainly thank Etihad Stadium for their continued support of the club and can-t wait to be back in action in Round one as we take on Western Sydney Wanderers in what will be a massive match.”

Etihad Stadium CEO Paul Sergeant said the stadium was thrilled to be bringing the seats in for all of Victory-s home games.

“The feedback from Victory fans during last season was overwhelmingly positive, so the decision to present the stadium in rectangular mode for all Victory matches during the coming season was a real no-brainer,” he said.

“It certainly adds to the cracking atmosphere Victory fans create and with five huge games to be played here at Etihad this season it-s going to be brilliant.”

Melbourne Victory memberships will go on sale this week.
