Victory braces for battle in Adelaide

Melbourne Victory is expecting to have a fight on its hands for the three points when it travels to play Adelaide United on Saturday at Coopers Stadium.

Victory has won four straight games, and six of the last seven, while Adelaide is stuck at the bottom of the Hyundai A-League ladder after 13 rounds.

It took a last-gasp winner from Marco Rojas for Victory to steal the points the last time the teams met at Coopers Stadium, in Round 3 this season.

“They’re a really good team.  Even though they have struggled so far during the season, it doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a tough game,” said Victory midfielder Oliver Bozanic.

“We believe 100% it’ll be a tough game. We’re ready for a fight, and to play good football against them.”

Bozanic has excelled during Victory’s recent rise up the ladder, forming a particularly strong combination with fellow midfielder and club captain Carl Valeri.

“We’ve been working really well together with Jimmy Troisi in the middle.  I’m very happy with our midfield,” he said.

“He’s so solid.  He works so hard for the team, and going forward he gives so much as well.  It’s great to have him in there.

“I’m really enjoying my game at the moment, and I’m working really hard at it.”
