Twitter reacts to John Hall’s heroics in Adelaide

Adelaide United goalkeeper John Hall has sent social media into a spin following his heroics against the Jets at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.

Deputising for injured skipper Eugene Galekovic for the second straight match the 22-year-old earned the admiration of Hyundai A-League fans with a brave first-half save to deny Morten Nordstrand a certain goal.

With the match still goalless 11 minutes before the break a quickly taken free-kick looked to have caught the Reds out at the back when the Jets striker connected with a looping header.

However Hall was on hand to bail his side out, retreating quickly and diving full-stretch to parry the ball away, with his head clattering into the post in the process.

While fans gasped at what looked to be a serious injury, the Reds shot-stopper was immediately back to his feet to defend the corner and was more concerned about the result at half-time.

“Yeah we’ve done a great job, I think we’re much more switched on than we have been,” Hall told Fox Sports at the break.

“All that’s left now is to be more clinical in the front third.

“Noggin’s fine, noggin’s fine. I’ll be right for the second half.”

Adelaide went on to claim just their third win of the season, with a Marcelo Carrusca penalty enough to bank all three points and a clean sheet for Hall.
