Football fans across the nation should make a date with the armchair on Sunday afternoon for this week’s Fox Sports/ABC TV match as leaders Sydney FC tackle champions Melbourne City.
The contest is set to be a real highlight of the Westfield W-League season with Sydney FC in stunning form after their remarkable 6-1 win over big-name Canberra United.
But Melbourne City, one feels, are ready to fully shine after a shock run of outs recently.
And one thing is for sure. The quality will be top drawer with a host of Westfield Matildas on show, plus several star international recruits sprinkled across both sides.
For Sydney FC, there is also the small matter of revenge after a loss in the 2016 Grand Final against City, not to mention an incredible 6-0 loss against the same opponent on last season’s opening day.
