Troisi happy to assist after Victory defeat Jets

Despite scoring his first goal in his second spell with the Big V, creative midfielder James Troisi says assisting Victory’s lethal strike force is most important to him.

Troisi got on the scoresheet with Victory’s fourth late on against a valiant Jets in the 4-2 win in Geelong on Monday night.

The three points pushed Victory in second to within seven points of undefeated Sydney FC at the top of the ladder.

It was Troisi’s first goal in this second spell with the Victorian powerhouse, though the win and helping the team create, he said, was more important.

“I took my chance tonight and obviously we want to continue that but for me it doesn’t matter who scores; obviously it’s nice scoring but as long as we’re creating chances.
