Central Coast Mariners defender Trent Sainsbury could be on his way to English Championship side Bolton Wanderers, according to reports in the UK.
The 21-year-old has become one of the hottest properties in Australian football after a stellar season with the Mariners, culminating in last weekend’s grand final triumph.
Sainsbury had been tipped to join Swiss side FC basel or Premier League side Southampton.
But the Daily Mail is reporting that Bolton have already agreed a deal worth more than $500,000 for the centreback.
However, a Mariners spokesman denied any deal had been done and said that Bolton were just one of many clubs interested in signing the defender.
