The Western Sydney Wanderers continue to re-shape their squad for next season with the club announcing the signing of South American central midfielder Bruno Piñatares.
Hailing from Montevideo, the 26-year-old has spent his career playing in the top two divisions of Uruguay and Brazil.
Piñatares made his professional debut at only 16 years of age but it’s his most recent season that has been his most successful: holding the midfield for Cerro as they finished an impressive third in the Primera División.
The addition of Piñatares strengthens a midfield which already includes Kearyn Baccus, Mitch Nichols, Dimas and our other most new signing Steven Lustica.
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said that Piñatares is a strong addition to the club.
“We look forward to welcoming Bruno to Western Sydney when he arrives for pre-season training in the coming weeks,” said Tsatsimas.
“Bruno’s style of play will fit well into the Wanderers playing structure and is something we’re pleased to see at our club.”
