Transfer news: Wanderers sign Uruguayan midfielder

The Western Sydney Wanderers continue to re-shape their squad for next season with the club announcing the signing of South American central midfielder Bruno PiƱatares.

Hailing from Montevideo, the 26-year-old has spent his career playing in the top two divisions of Uruguay and Brazil.
Ā
PiƱatares made his professional debut at only 16 years of age but itā€™s his most recent season that has been his most successful: holding the midfield for Cerro as they finished an impressive third in the Primera DivisiĆ³n.
Ā
The addition of PiƱatares strengthens a midfield which already includes Kearyn Baccus, Mitch Nichols, Dimas and our other most new signing Steven Lustica.
Ā
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said that PiƱatares is a strong addition to the club.
Ā
ā€œWe look forward to welcoming Bruno to Western Sydney when he arrives for pre-season training in the coming weeks,ā€ said Tsatsimas.
Ā
ā€œBrunoā€™s style of play will fit well into the Wanderers playing structure and is something weā€™re pleased to see at our club.ā€
