Sydney FC and defender Jacques Faty have come to a mutual agreement to terminate the French-born Senegalese international’s contract.
Faty played a total of 30 Hyundai A-League games for the Sky Blues after joining in the 2015 January transfer window, helping the club reach last season’s Grand Final and second place on the Hyundai A-League ladder with a record number of points and goals.

The centre half signed a new deal at the start of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season which would finish at the end of next season, however it has been agreed to cancel the deal to allow him to pursue other opportunities.
Head Coach Graham Arnold said: “Jacques has given great service to the club and played an integral part in our record breaking season last year.”
“We thank him for the time he has given to Sydney FC and wish him all the best for the future.”
Faty scored two goals for the club – including the first in the Sky Blues 2-1 Sydney Derby win in January and an opening goal in a 3-0 win over Wellington Phoenix last season.
