Sydney FC have signed goalkeeper Chris Oldfield on a short term injury replacement contract, the club confirmed today.
Oldfield spent the week trialling with the Sky Blues, and will immediately move into the matchday squad for tonight’s clash against reigning Hyundai A-League Champions Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium.
The 25 year old English born shotstopper spent time with English Premier League giants Liverpool’s youth setup before turning out for Football League clubs Chester, Darlington and Rochdale AFC.
Oldfield joins from Avondale FC and has represented Hume City FC in the PlayStation 4 NPL 1 Victoria Men’s competition, where he put in an impressive display in the Westfield FFA Cup semi final against Melbourne Victory last year.
Oldfield will wear jersey number 40 for the Sky Blues.
