Former Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets midfielder Mateo Poljak is back in western Sydney and has signed a deal with PS4 NPL club Marconi.
The Stallions signed the Asian Champions League winner on Thursday as they look to build a strong season in NPL 1 and a successful run in the FFA Cup.
Poljak, 28, played in the A-League last season with the Jets where he enjoyed two seasons in the Hunter.
After parting ways with Newcastle in mid-2017, the Croatian-born midfielder turned out for FC Astra Giurgiu in Romania briefly before returning to Sydney recently.
Previously, the former Croatian youth international spent three years at Wanderers from 2012 where he was a key part of the club’s ACL winning side of 2014 and a regular in Tony Popovic’s midfield in 66 appearances for the red and black.
Poljak, who’s played 116 A-League games, will no doubt be on the radar of A-League clubs now that he’s back playing in Australia.
