Former Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC midfielder Terry Antonis has left Greek outfit PAOK, signing with newly-promoted Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo.
Antonis, who spent last season on loan at Hyundai A-League side Wanderers, has inked a two-year deal to play with the Dutch outfit.
“He [Antonis] is a versatile midfielder who has qualities we need in the league,” VVV-Venlo manager Stan Valckx said on the club’s website.
The 23-year-old, who started his career with Sydney FC, played just seven games for PAOK over the last two seasons, before moving back to the A-League with the Wanderers.
In 15 appearances for Western Sydney Antonis scored three goals, including in the Elimination Final loss to Brisbane Roar.
After completing his medical at the club last week, Antonis was presented to the club’s fans during the Venlo’s 7-0 friendly win against Hout-Blerick on the weekend.
He’ll now begin training with the club ahead of the Eredivisie opener next month, which comes against Craig Goodwin and Ajdin Hrustic’s Sparta Rotterdam on August 12.
