Perth Glory have signed 31-year-old Wales international and attacking midfielder Tom Lawrence on a one-year deal, subject to international clearance.
Lawrence is the club’s fifth and final visa signing ahead of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season.
He joins Glory after a stint at Scottish giants Rangers, where he scored two UEFA Europa League goals and reached four Scottish FA Cup and League Cup finals between 2022 and 2025.

Born in Wrexham, Wales, Lawrence is a product of the Manchester United academy, having joined the Red Devils aged eight in 2002.
His professional debut came 11 years later on loan to Carlisle United; he’s since accrued more than 400 appearances for clubs across the United Kingdom, including Leicester City, Ipswich Town, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Manchester United, where he made his Premier League debut under then-interim player-coach Ryan Giggs in a 3-1 win over Hull City in 2014.
Lawrence has scored 81 career goals – three of which have come whilst representing Wales, which he has done on 23 occasions.

Now, as the attacking midfielder prepares to play club football outside of the UK for the first time in his career, he says his goal is to score and assist as many goals as possible to help Perth climb up the Isuzu UTE A-League table.
“I had a call with (Glory football director) Stan Lazaridis and the manager (David Zdrilic) and just listened to their passion for the club and where they want to go,” he said. “That’s really what settled it in the end.
“I also spoke with (Glory defender) Scott Wootton and he was very complimentary about the club and Perth as a city.
“He basically said, ‘Just get here as soon as you can, you’ll love it’.”
Lawrence spent his teenage years alongside Wootton in Manchester United’s academy; the pair have reunited in Perth as two of Glory’s 11 new signings ahead of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season.
“I’ve been training every day with a guy back home in the UK and I feel like I’m in good shape,” Lawrence added.
“My body feels good, so I don’t think it’ll take long at all and I’ll be raring to go.
“I’ve come here to score as many goals and contribute as many assists to help the team as I can. I want the team to finish as high as possible and go for whatever we can this season.”

Glory football director Stan Lazaridis says Lawrence arrival will hopefully ease the goalscoring burden currently heaped on the shoulders of club captain Adam Taggart this season.
Perth scored just 22 goals in 26 games last season, with CommBank Socceroo Taggart scoring 10 – 45% of the club’s 2024-25 goal haul.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Tom on board,” Lazaridis said.
“He has been a proven performer at an extremely high level in the UK for more than a decade and is exactly the kind of experienced and versatile forward we need in our squad.
“Tom offers us so much flexibility as he can play out wide, down the middle, or in behind as an attacking midfielder.
“He can score and provide pinpoint delivery with both feet and has also banged in a number of stunning free-kicks over the years.
“We need to take some of the goalscoring burden off Adam Taggart’s shoulders and Tom will do that, as well as helping with the development of our younger attacking players.
“He had been linked to a number of UK and A-League clubs, but after chatting to his former Manchester United teammate Scott Wooton, he wanted to be a part of what we’re building here at Glory.
“I’m extremely excited to see Tom in action.”
Lawrence and Glory begin the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 campaign with a home game against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday, October 18. Click here to secure your tickets!
