Ticket surge for Liverpool tour of Australia

Record crowds are set to greet English giants Liverpool in July with huge numbers of tickets snapped up already for matches in Brisbane and Adelaide against Hyundai A-League opposition.

The Reds will take on Brisbane Roar FC at Suncorp Stadium (July 17) and then Adelaide United on July 20 at Adelaide Oval.

Tickets to both games only went on sale on Monday to ‘Football Family’ members and then the general public on Tuesday, with only a handful remaining at both venues.

Roar wont be starstruck by EPL’s Reds

In Adelaide, only single seats remain with a record crowd for a football match of 53,500 likely to pack into the iconic venue.

Almost 100,000 watched Liverpool play Melbourne Victory at the MCG two years ago, with Reds legend Robbie Fowler revealing officials at the club still talk now about the amazing rendition of club anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

Footage of the moment has amassed more than three million views on YouTube.

“That’s not a cliched answer. We actually do talk about it,” Fowler said.

“It was unproven territory, if you like. We’d never been here before as a club, but I think the decision to come here was vindicated.”

It’s set to be a golden July for football fans in Australia, with Real Madrid, Manchester City and AS Roma playing for the International Champions Cup in Melbourne at the same time the Reds are in Australia.
