Melbourne Victory welcome Macarthur FC to AAMI Park for the first A-League fixture between the two sides set to kick-off the Matchweek 20 action on Thursday, May 6.
Since Steve Kean took over as Victory’s interim Head Coach, the Navy Blue have put one win, draw and loss on the board. A 1-1 draw with Central Coast Mariners last time out saw Kean’s side come from a goal down to rescue an encouraging point against the second-placed side.
Victory will be without Callum McManaman (ankle) and Ben Folami (groin) for the clash at AAMI Park – the pair of injured wingers will be joined on the sidelines by right-back Storm Roux who will sit out after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season against the Mariners.
Macarthur midfielder Denis Genreau is also suspended for the Thursday night fixture, but towering defender Aleksandar Šušnjar returns to the fray after serving his own one-match ban for yellow card accumulation.
The Bulls are sliding out of Premiership contention thanks to a five-game winless run (L2, D3) which followed three successive wins through Matchweek 13-15.
Ante Milicic will be hoping his side can notch a much-needed win to stave off the teams circling below from seventh to ninth on the A-League table: Western United, Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix are all in striking distance of the sixth-placed Bulls heading into Matchweek 20.
