Frans Thijssen says the motivation to win something with Brisbane Roar is far more important to him than worrying about his future with the club.
Speculation has been rife this week the interim boss will be let go by the club at the end of the season and not be offered the technical director role which was slated when he took the reins from Mike Mulvey in November.
Speaking after the club’s 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets on Friday night, the Dutchman refused to comment, fully focused on a huge few weeks for the side.

Roar have a sudden-death final next weekend followed by their final group game in the AFC Champions League, where they still have faint hopes of progressing.
“At the moment I’m not interested in next season. I don’t know where I am next season,” Thijssen said.
“For now I’m working for Brisbane Roar and trying to make the season successful. We’re still in for two prizes [A-League and ACL] and we have to go for that.
“Everybody’s confident we can do well in the play-offs. We can win a couple of games in a row with our team.
“That’s all I’m interested in, winning something with these boys because they deserve it. I hope they win a prize and we’ll go for it.”
With their finals spot already assured, Thijssen rested a host of his stars for the clash with the lowly Jets.
Relative unknowns Lachlan Jackson, George Lambadaridis, Shannon Brady, Patrick Theodore, Luke Pavlou and Abraham Yango all got their chance and didn’t disappoint.
Kofi Danning came off the bench to get his first A-League goal in almost four years while Jackson – in his third senior game – bagged the winner.
“The boys did a great job. You see mistakes, you see fighting, you see everything in the game, scoring goals and creating chances,” Thijssen said.
“It’s a great feeling for the boys that you win this game with many young players.
“We did it to give other players rest for the playoffs. Both things are positive I think. It’s great to see young players from the academy coming through and doing a good job.”
Brisbane must now wait on the other results from this weekend before learning who they will play next weekend.
They will have an away match against either Wellington Phoenix, Sydney FC or Adelaide United.
