‘Georgievski, they are struggling’ – Moss lands dig at ex-teammate

Western Sydney Wanderers’ bye in Round 6 allowed star defender Daniel Georgievski to swap the pitch for the couch on FOX Sports’ Match Day Saturday coverage.

And Georgievski lived up to his growing reputation as one of the genuine characters of the Hyundai A-League with a few hilarious exchanges.

Newcastle Jets keeper Glen Moss didn’t miss the chance to stick the boot in with a couple of sly digs at his former teammate.

But Georgievski gave as good as he got, landing a couple of gentle jabs on the chin of Archie Thompson, while Jets boss Ernie Merrick was also part of the fun.

Glory fans’ wedded bliss

A couple of Perth Glory fans made the most of the bye round to tie the knot over the weekend.

Victoria-based member Justin Brown married Bethany and posted this pic with a Glory jersey on social media.

Surely a honeymoon to HBF Park for this weekend’s Grand Final replay is on the cards?

The Cove stick the boot in

Sydney FC’s active supporter group ‘The Cove’ were at it again, unveiling a spectacular tifo ahead of Sunday’s Big Blue against Melbourne Victory.

The tifo recreated every goal from the Sky Blues record-breaking 6-1 Semi Final drubbing of Victory last season.

It follows on from their eye-catching tifo in Round 2 against Wellington Phoenix, which had images of all the former legends who had helped guide the club to previous glories, with the question ‘which of you is next?’

Grant reaches impressive milestone

He’s a three-time Championship winner and a Caltex Socceroos regular, but Rhyan Grant achieved another outstanding feat on Sunday.

Grant’s appearance against Victory – which was a typically all-action display – was his 200th for Sydney FC in all competitions.

Congrats on the milestone Rhyan!

Sky Blues lift some more silverware

Sydney FC lifted another trophy, taking out the Beyond Blue Cup which is the piece of silverware at stake every time the Sky Blues take on Melbourne Victory.

With the club’s Westfield W-League side also beating Big Blue rivals Victory at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday, there were plenty of reasons to celebrate in the Harbour City.

Both clubs have got behind the Beyond Blue Cup over many years which is designed to shed a light on the fact that depression and anxiety don’t discriminate, affecting anyone of any age and stage in life, as well as promoting good mental health.
