Henrique has long produced tears of joy for Brisbane Roar fans, such is the departing striker’s history of producing truly golden moments for the club.
But in Sunday’s press conference to announce his imminent departure from the Queensland outfit – who today announced Robbie Fowler as their new full-time coach – the Brazilian striker shed a few tears of his own as he recalled his match-winning heroics in two of the club’s three Hyundai A-League Championship wins.
The 33-year-old struggled to keep his composure as he recalled his extra-time goal and decisive shootout penalty in 2010/11’s triumph over Central Coast Mariners (see video at the top of this page). He also scored an extra-time winner in the club’s 2013/14 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

Having confirmed his exit from the Queensland club, the former America Mineiro youth, who became an Australian citizen in 2015, said he will continue to support Brisbane from the stands.
“I’ll be here, I’ll be supporting now from outside,” Henrique said.
“I’ll be getting life membership for my family and I.
“From now I’ll be in the stand supporting the team from there.”
