The teams are IN ahead of Round 19 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Wellington Phoenix have received a major boost with the inclusion of captain Alex Rufer, who is expected to travel with the squad to Melbourne ahead of Friday night’s meeting with Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

The central midfielder has been absent since December with glandular fever but Phoenix head coach Giancarlo Italiano has confirmed the New Zealand international is set to play some part in tomorrow night’s fixture.

“He’ll be in the ins,” Italiano said. “He’s progressed nicely, and the intention is that he travels.

“He’ll have some sort of part in tomorrow’s game. If he’s going to travel, he’s going to be part of the game.

“He’s way ahead of where he should be, which is good. He’s had two good weeks of training.”

Elsewhere, there are potential debuts for new signings around the league, with Macarthur Bulls naming Tunisia international Saîf-Eddine Khaoui after his arrival in Campbelltown. Former Newcastle Jets defender Lachlan Jackson could make his Victory debut, while Japanese defender Takuya Okamoto has been named in Perth Glory’s extended squad ahead of what could be his club debut against Melbourne City.

Auckland FC midfielder Louis Verstraete is unavailable after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season – as is Western United’s Angus Thurgate, while Macarthur captain Valère Germain sits out his side’s trip to face the Wanderers after picking up a two-game suspension.
