The ban was handed down by the A-League’s match review panel on Tuesday, after investigating an incident where Calvano appeared to strike Thompson in the face 11 minutes from full-time.
It means the hard-nosed defender will miss clashes against Melbourne Heart and Wellington Phoenix, but a possible harder punishment could still await.
The Brazilian will also face an A-League Disciplinary Committee next week for a separate incident where he made contact with referee Peter Green.
The incident could see Calvano rubbed out for an extended period of time, with the A-League taking a stern view on players touching match officials.
Current Perth Glory goalkeeper Danny Vukovic was banned for nine months after he infamously struck the arm of Mark Shield during the 2008 Grand Final while playing for Central Coast.
