Sydney FC have been dealt a blow with midfielder Nicky Carle set to miss the next month of A-League season with a left foot injury.

Carle sustained the injury in the early stages of the Sky Blues’ 3-0 win over Perth on last month.

The Socceroos midfielder was challenging for possession with Glory skipper Jacob Burns and copped a knock on his foot, playing another 50 minutes before being substituted.

Carle will miss Sydney’s home match with Newcastle as well as further games against the Gold Coast, Perth Glory and Melbourne Heart.

“It is bitterly disappointing. I am shattered about this,” Carle said.

“I was back and 100% fit so to pick up another injury is very upsetting. It is tough to deal with.”

“It has been a tough start to the season for me. I missed part of the preseason and have picked up injuries a few times since then so I am really down about this one.

“We have fantastic fitness and medical staff here so we will do whatever it takes to get back with my foot 100% ready.”
