Tributes were rolled out for Alex Brosque on Friday evening but the retiring Sky Blues skipper wasn’t the only Sydney FC stalwart indulged in heavy praise.
Rhyan Grant was also the recipient of a teammate’s admiration after his masterful fullback exhibition in Sydney’s 1-0 triumph over Perth.
Grant, 28, was his magnificent, relentlessly industrious self against the newly-crowned premiers.

Few have rivalled his command of the right flank in the Hyundai A-League this season, and the trademark lung-busting surges against Tony Popovic’s side are the kind that saw him deservedly earn last November’s Caltex Socceroos debut.
Midfielder Brandon O’Neill was quick to sing Grant’s praises in a post-match interview with FOX SPORTS.

“It was a phenomenal performance,” O’Neill said of his side’s 1-0 victory.

“He’s just a go-go gadget, unbelievable.
“It’s quite big beating the Premiers twice. We’re looking forward to facing them again now in the finals.”
