Round 18: Melbourne Victory 1 – 3 Sydney FC
Melbourne Victory suffered more Big Blue misery as Bobo’s brace helped Sydney FC to a come-from-behind 3-1 win at AAMI Park.
Trailing to Besart Berisha’s 58th-minute penalty, the Sky Blues responded in emphatic fashion, scoring three goals in the final half-hour to extend their unbeaten run against Kevin Muscat’s men to two years.
Bobo netted a quickfire equaliser and struck the second from the penalty spot, with Jason Geria shown a second yellow card for bringing down the Brazilian.
David Carney added the Sky Blues’ third off the bench as the champions moved nine points clear at the top.
Round 27: Sydney FC 1 – 0 Melbourne Victory
Sydney FC celebrated lifting the Hyundai A-League Premiers Plate by edging Victory 1-0 at Allianz Stadium.
Bobo netted his 27th goal of the season in just the eighth minute and it proved enough to secure the Sky Blues a seventh straight Big Blue success.
Alex Wilkinson came to the hosts’ rescue either side of the winner as his two goal-line clearances held Victory scoreless for just the third time this term.
The win also saw Sydney FC match the 20 victories they accrued in finishing first last season.
