Sydney FC sign experienced midfielder

Sydney FC have confirmed the signing of experienced former Westfield Matilda Kylie Ledbrook for the Westfield W-League 2017/18 season.

Playmaker Ledbrook, a Sydney FC foundation W-League player and former captain, played for the Sky Blues until 2013 before turning her attention to family matters and plying her trade in the PS4 NPL NSW Women’s competition.

31-year old Ledbrook, who has been capped 19-times for the Matildas, expressed her delight at re-joining Sydney FC for the upcoming season.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Sydney FC,” she said.

“The Sky Blues are the only club I know, I’m a Sydney girl through and through and it’s great to be returning to the W-League.”

Westfield W-League Head Coach Ante Juric said Ledbrook would be a vital member of the squad with the new season on the horizon.

“Kylie is a quality player and importantly a good person and I expect she will be influential to this squad of players both on and off the park,” he said.

“It’s pleasing to have Kylie on board, she is a special player.  Her technical ability, creativity and game know how are all second to none.  Added to this she will bring in to the team her vast experience, which will be important in the big games no doubt.”

Sydney FC is also pleased to announce Westfield Matilda Teresa Polias will continue to lead the squad with the captain’s armband in season 2017/18.

More player arrivals are imminent, as Sydney FC get set to kick off their Westfield W-League season at Allianz Stadium against Brisbane Roar on Friday 27 October (kick off 5:20pm) in a Hyundai A-League Westfield W-League double header.
