Sydney FC have unveiled their e-Sports competitor, with Mark Brijeski the club’s inaugural candidate to represent the Sky Blues in the newly established E-League, to commence in February.
Brijeski, gamer handle xMarkoHD, will represent the Sky Blues in the PlayStation format of the competition and signs boasting some of the game’s most impressive stats.
Currently ranked 23rd in the World, and 1st in the Rest of the World region, Brijeski is a former professional player with e-Sports team Mindfreak.
Having recently competed in the FUT Championships in Sydney and Canada in February and April respectively, Brijeski said he’s excited to be joining the Sky Blues on their foray into e-Sports.
“Obviously everyone knows Sydney FC as the biggest club in the [Hyundai] A-League and now I want to make them the biggest in e-Sports,” Brijeski said.
“I’m really excited to be named as the inaugural competitor for the club and I can’t wait to get started on this journey.
“Like any member of Sydney FC my aim is to win trophies and I believe I can achieve that here.”
Sydney FC will appoint an Xbox E-League competitor in the following days following a league draft.
The E-League kicks off on February 1, 2018 and will run for the last nine rounds of the Hyundai A-League season with each club facing each other once before a tournament-style Finals Series is held.
