Sydney FC have finally concluded their 12-month search for a major sponsor, signing a two-year deal with travel agency Webjet.

Sydney FC have finally concluded their 12-month search for a major sponsor, signing a two-year deal with travel agency Webjet.

New Sydney FC CEO Tony Pignata believes the agreement, which will see Webjet fill the gap on the front of the Ske Blues shirt and believed to worth $600,000, represents a huge step forward for the club.

“We are delighted to have Webjet on board as our major sponsor and we hope this is the start of a long and significant partnership,” Pignata said.

Pignata has been a key force in finding a major sponsor during his short time with the club, and admitted that another empty space on the front of the shirt wouldn’t have been a good look.

“Certainly it wouldn’t have been ideal,” Pignata told The Australian newspaper. “It wouldn’t have looked good for a football brand like Sydney FC to go into another season without that key support.”
