Sydney FC star Milos Ninkovic suggested he still has room to improve after spearheading the Sky Blues’ 2-0 win over Newcastle Jets on Sunday.
Kept quiet in the Westfield FFA Cup Final, Ninkovic rediscovered his exceptional best at McDonald Jones Stadium to help the visitors shake off their midweek disappointment.
The midfielder capped his performance with a flash of brilliance for Sydney’s opening goal, driving through the heart of Newcastle’s defence before firing his finish across Jets ‘keeper Jack Duncan.

“Today it was a great goal,” Ninkovic told Fox Sports.
“Maybe in the last two or three games I didn’t play like I can but you can’t play every game good. It’s not possible.
“Tonight it was a very important victory and we keep going.”
The cagey victory ended Sydney’s three-game winless run and restored their six-point advantage at the top of the ladder.
Ninkovic paid tribute to his side for banking another three points at the end of a testing week.
“It was very important especially (because) it was our third game in the last seven days,” the Serbian said.
“It was very, very tough especially after the FFA Cup. We showed good performance and I think we deserved three points.”
