Sydney FC make changes to their E-League team

Sydney FC have made two changes to their Foxtel E-League squad for the 2019 season, with competitors Samer Elbadar and substitute competitor Andrew Zappacosta unavailable for this season’s competition.

Work commitments for the pair mean they’re unable to fully commit to the upcoming season and as such Sydney FC have selected two new competitors to represent the Sky Blues.

Sydney FC have signed Necat Gorgec (gamertage – NFamous_Shadow8) as their new Xbox competitor.

The Australian comes into the E-League competition in good form, currently ranked 5th in the Rest of the World region for FUT Champions, enjoying a solid run of results in February that has seen him regularly feature in the top 3 ranks for his region.

Following Gorgec to the Sky Blues is substitute PS4 competitor Joshua Gresham (gamertag – Joshawaa), who currently ranks 55th in the Rest of the World region.

Speaking on his departure, reigning E-League Champion Samer Elbadar wished the Sky Blues well for the upcoming season.

“I’m disappointed not to be able to represent Sydney FC in the E-League this season,” he said.

“Unfortunately, due to work commitments I’m unable to commit and give 100% this season, I don’t want to let my team mates down, and that’s why I’ve made the decision not to play this year.

“I wish Marko and our new competitors all the best in 2019 and I’m confident the boys will be able to defend Sydney FC’s title.”

Sydney FC kick off their Foxtel E-League 2019 season on Thursday 21 February against the Wellington Phoenix. Catch the Sky Blues’ games broadcast on Fox Sports 505 and the Foxtel E-League Twitch channel.
