Sydney FC will host Melbourne Victory in the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Sydney next Sunday (kick-off 4:05pm AEST).
After claiming the Westfield W-League 2020/21 Premiership last Wednesday evening, Sydney FC earned the right to host the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final after defeating Canberra United 3 – 0 in today’s Westfield W-League 2021 Semi Final.
Melbourne Victory booked their berth in the Westfield W-League Championship decider after they convincingly defeated the Brisbane Roar FC 6-2 at Lions Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the other Semi Final.
APL commissioner Greg O’Rourke congratulated both teams on qualifying for the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final.
“Our congratulations go to Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory for advancing to the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final,” said O’Rourke
“Based on the quality of the matches that we saw over past two days, and their previous encounter last week at Cromer Park, next Sunday’s Grand Final is set to be a thrilling event to end the season on a high.
“We are also aiming to have a record crowd on hand to witness the crowning of the Westfield W-League 2021 Champions,” concluded O’Rourke.
This will be Sydney FC’s eighth appearance in a Westfield W-League Grand Final and they will be looking to claim their fourth Westfield W-League Championship trophy whilst it will be Melbourne Victory’s third Westfield W-League Grand Final appearance and they will be hoping to win their second Westfield W-League Championship trophy.
